Change Your Perspective, Change Your Outcome

At some point we start to realize that life will never be perfect, and everyone has a struggle. More often than not it can feel like other people have perfect lives and we are the only ones going through challenges, but this is not the case. No matter what, challenges will always show up. It is true that some people may have more challenges than others, but all people lead imperfect lives. Changing how your perspective and how you react, can help stop the patterns that have been controlling how you think and feel. Here are some techniques that can help you shift and eliminate patterns.

Change Negative Thought Into Positive Ones

Quite some time ago, a mentor of mine mentioned that our minds are like tape recorders. Most people don’t realize just how much they listen to negative self tapes over and over again. A lot of times the recording is being played below the conscious level. Having negative thoughts repeat itself can make it difficult to eliminate such thoughts. Reprogram your brain by finding ways to change those negative thoughts. Some ways people do this is through affirmations and meditation because those tools work on the subconscious level as well as on the conscious level.

Be Aware of Others Influences

Be conscious of the influence of other people. Spending a lot of time with someone, can shift your energy levels. For instance, you can walk in the room with a high energy (joyful, light, excited) and leave with a low energy (depressed, annoyed, drained) just by having a conversation with someone. Sound familiar? Anyone ever bring you down? Both positive and negative energy are contagious. If you are aware of how you feel each time you are around people, this would assist you in knowing when to walk away if needed.

For this reason, it is important that you surround yourself with people who will encourage you to do your best and help you attain whatever goals you have. Obviously there are going to be some negative people that you can’t completely cut out of your life, especially if they are family. If you try to limit the amount of contact with them as much as possible, it would make more room for success in your life and the people who really appreciate you.

Allowing Change and Creating Better Outcomes

Sometimes we dwell on the challenge in front of us. Instead of looking at the “why” or “how”, shift and start envisioning the outcome you would like to see. Looking at your situation in a positive light, can change how you approach the challenge and arm you with a solution you may have never thought of. Change does not come easy. Half the battle is allowing the change to happen. The other half is accepting the change and being grateful for where you are. The effort is well worth it. Baby steps count too. When done consistently, even small changes can lead to big results.

Reach Out For Support

There is the idea of a super human, someone who was able to get to the top all by themselves with no outside help. This is a myth. We are creatures who depend on each other. No matter who you are, you will need help from others to succeed. Have you ever seen anyone become successful without having a mentor, teacher, coach, parent, etc by their side or behind the scenes? Instead of trying to do it on your own, share your challenges with others you can trust. Trying to go it alone is not healthy and can make things worse. By letting others know what you are struggling with, you can get help and release yourself from the self-beat up you may be constantly putting yourself through. This will allow you to focus on the areas where you have the most ability and can reach your highest possibility.

When you change your environment and how you deal with it, you will find you have more energy to work through challenges. Others will be anxious to be around you and doors of opportunity will continuously open up.
